The release date of the The Trilogy is around the same time as GTA:V enhanced release too, it kinda goes hand in hand. Not to mention, Rockstar was going to give away these for free with the new GTA:V enhanced release, but that was canceled due to the negative response it got. Rockstar has insisted that these classic games are not remasters or remakes and should instead be considered as their own product despite suggesting the titles have been enhanced relative to their source material. When you mention about the unreal engine and you imply that your right an everybody else is wrong, well you could be wrong.

They are 2 completely different things even on a legal basis too. Licences/contracts are not the same in regards to music and actors.

Rockstar is ass sure, but they kept all their old games and even released them again over so many years, the only games ever delisted being Midnight Club due to both music and Car licensing. If there is a logical explanation then ill give Rockstar a pass but if its just because they don't want the old games, ill be both confused and irritated. Or the labels and all don't want to be in the old games, but still want to contribute to Remakes meaning most music will stay but they don't want to be associated with old, which i know sounds extremely dumb, but its possible. So most likely Rockstar is losing licences to soundtrack of the games and many of them don't want to renew contracts for songs and acting, so they have to shut down, meaning all 3 Remakes will have different acting and music If Rockstar is following trends of remakes Then it makes no sense for them to remove old games especelly when even Original Mafia is there. Id like to know what is the real reason behind this.
